In a wedding context, this genre is characterized by the pure, open sounds. It includes what is known as “New Age” but is broader and tends to lend itself to pop crossovers which the Piano Guys have capitalized on. Jim Brickman, Phillip Glass, John Tesh are names that come to mind when you want to say a name that implies the sound, but obviously there are many others.
While the Traditional category evokes the high and stately sound embodied in the baroque era, contemporary classical music tends to imply a calmer mood. It’s great for outdoor ceremonies especially.
